With quarantine happening all over I have never been more appreciate of the little things...
like my my plants and front yard.

It's like a newly discovered playground! So when Im not making jewelry I can be found
somewhere the yard. Checking on plants and always looking ofr new jewelry photography backdrops. 

So on a whim I designed this little ring just for fun. It showed up so well outside
by the plants that I had to snap a photo! I have some new ideas for rings and love trying out ideas
before I settle on a long lasting design.

Dreaming of Summertime fun feels like happy colors, bright fingernail polish, sunglasses
and of course lightweight earrings.
Pink and orange just scream vacation. One of my go-to fingernail polishes for Summer
 is called Sweet Memories by OPI. This pale neutral pink has just the right amount of soft
color that blends easily with all your bright Summer clothes.

Sadly having time for seeing the sunset doesn't fit everyones schedules in daily life. But when
you can, the benefits of pausing to experience a sunset sure feels good.

As the sun gets lower in the sky, the clouds and colors begin to transform. Those quiet
moments surrounded by natural beauty seem to wash your worries away. 

Trying to capture a sunset is hard because the colors are constantly changing. Sometimes
bold and sometimes soft pastels. I designed this necklace with those fierce bold colors
in mind. They are warm, vibrant and feel very alive. Just like the Southwest. You
can be reminded everyday.

Sometimes solid colors just work best. Recently I was asked to make a pair of blue earrings. Just blue.

So the search was on for special blue beads to create with. Score! I happened on these vintage beads.
The top bead is vintage German glass from the 1930's. The bottom bead is vintage Lucite Moonglow 
from the 1950's. Vintage beads bring back memories of styles gone by. Retro treasures.

Looking back at jewelry through he ages alaways intrigues me. So simple blue earrings with vintage beads
are sweet and practical for so many everyday outfits.

Before Covid19 hit I may not have considered weeding to be something I actually looked forward to.
I have become obsessed! Now I'm constantly on the lookout for a new one sneaking up.
Like this weed peeking out from my blooming Lantana plant. Gotcha!

Our body, mind and souls can only take so much worry and stress.
During this uncertain time we all need some brain breaks. Thats where weeding comes in.
It's an opportunity to awaken other sensory perceptions. Your sight, smell and touch will thank you! 

Of course this starts with being lucky enough to have a garden or lawn area to provide this feel-good green
factor. But if all you have are few potted plants that works too.

My first in depth experience was such a pleasant surprise. What I thought would be
10 minutes of puttering turned into 2-3 hours of happy time. The satisfaction of digging in the dirt,
while the birds were singing, feeling the wind in my hair and sun on my face - all while getting good
excercise. I mean! (All of this may lead you to a nice hot bubble bath too)

It brings a calm, stress free contented feeling. Just simple weeding. I hope you can try spending some time
doing that or just nurturing your plants right now. It really is soothing.
